Our club member, Robyn, is a very busy Lion. As well as supporting the club wherever possible, Robyn is the Multiple District (MD) Data Protection Officer, and the “Data Compliance Officer” for 3 Districts in the British Isles, “CE”, “CW” and “SE”.

The Lions motto is “We Serve”. So that Clubs can serve in their communities (local, national or international), they need the services of administrative functions such as the “Data Protection/UK GDPR” to keep them on the straight and narrow, legally speaking.

Robyn runs her own consultancy in this field and is therefore well-placed to advise the MD, Districts, Clubs and Lions on all things relating to this subject.

As a Club, District, MD – or even Lions International, the Association itself – personal information is collected, processed and stored to process membership administration; fundraising administration and/or simply to provide membership benefits. A club needs to have in place appropriately-worded documentation, such as a Privacy Notice – to demonstrate legal compliance with UK legislation. Robyn’s role is to provide assistance in this as well as helping out when specific questions arise.
