Fundraising and Donations

One thing that is so unique, to Lions clubs, is that 100% of all monies raised goes to charitable causes; membership fees cover the day to day running of the club and global associates.

We run stalls at fetes, fairs and fun days with a teddy and game tombola, as well as selling 2nd hand books,  gift baskets and knitted/crocheted items.

We also support other Lions clubs at their events, marshalling etc, as well as Witham & Maldon SWANS and Saffron Waldon Crocus Sapphires at their fundraising events.

We can’t thank them enough for raising this amount which we will put towards Grace’s continuous therapies or any equipment that she may need.
There are not enough thanks that we can give you and we are so incredibly grateful for your donation.
Much Love to you all, from our Pride to yours.

16th December 2018 St Peter's Hospital Cafe Quiz

At St Peter's Hospital in Maldon there is a CAFE that is run by Julie Taylor. She helps provide food for about 15 local families who desperately need help. Yes local supermarkets provide a small quantity of food that is going out of date but she needs other items as 'just a little bit extra'. She also helps senior single people to have a good solid meal at least once a day. for this she charges them a minimum fee but is pleased that at least they have someone to talk to and a warm meal inside them.
Our Club although well spread over EA and abroad held a quiz and raised £83-00 and with Lioness Lion Robyn Banks help (she works at Tesco's) managed to purchase all those extra little item in the picture.

18th June 2018 Mark presenting a satellite image to the school we help in Africa

Moira had coffee with Chris Brewster last Thursday, the lady who founded the school in memory of Ray, her husband (Lioness Lion Rosie's son) and another friend who died of Cancer some years ago. She showed me many more photos of her trip including some of the crops and gardens they are planting, using the tools we gave them. Mark arranged for a satellite image to be found of the area around the school we helped in Africa by the European Space Agency. It was then printed up in Maldon and presented to Chris Brewster and was then presented to the Village. Chris said that she couldn't get over to the village Chief, or to the interpreter, that she hadn't arranged for them to stop the satellite to actually take the picture for her. The Chief took the picture away immediately and said it was so precious that no one else could touch it until it was safely framed behind glass. He was sure that not even the President of The Ivory Coast owned such a wonderful map!
