Fundraising and Donations

Our Club Fundraising and Donations 2019 - 2020

One thing that is so unique, to Lions clubs, is that 100% of all monies raised goes to charitable causes; membership fees cover the day to day running of the club and global associates.

We run stalls at fetes, fairs and fun days with a teddy and game tombola, as well as selling 2nd hand books, gift baskets and knitted/crocheted items.

We also support other Lions clubs at their events, marshalling etc, as well as Witham & Maldon SWANS and Saffron Waldon Crocus Sapphires at their fundraising events.

25th February 2020 We received a letter of thanks from Hope for Grace charity that we helped recently

'Good afternoon to our wonderful Lion Pride 🦁

We received this cheque today from the fabulous Robyn on behalf of the wonderful Lioness/Lions Club of East Anglia.

It seems so fitting and we feel so grateful that their Lion Pride wanted to do something for our Lioness Grace.

We can’t thank them enough for raising this amount. We will put it towards Grace’s continuous therapies or any equipment that she may need.

There are not enough thanks that we can give you and we are so incredibly grateful for your donation.

Much Love to you all, from our Pride to yours.Team Grace'

President Sue presents a cheque for £100 to Felixstowe Academy

10th October 2019 President Sue presents a cheque for £100 to Felixstowe Academy

In September 2019 we had discussed and agreed at the last quarterly meeting to using some of the money in our Charity account.
It was agreed, that we use £100 in each of the counties that we have members in, Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk.

Sue decided that the money for Suffolk is to be used for a Teenage Mental Health Day. This will be held at Felixstowe Academy in late September 2019. Sue corresponded with the School Chaplin, who is organising the event, and he has assured her that the money will be spent wisely on literature and packs for the day.

Felixstowe Academy had a very successful Teenage Mental Health Awareness day back in October. Sue had a lovely letter back from the school chaplain telling her that it had been well attended by the students and what a great success it had been.
