Fundraising and Donations

Our Club Fundraising and Donations 2023 - 2024

One thing that is so unique, to Lions clubs, is that 100% of all monies raised goes to charitable causes; membership fees cover the day to day running of the club and global associates.

We run stalls at fetes, fairs and fun days with a teddy and game tombola, as well as selling 2nd hand books,  gift baskets and knitted/crocheted items.

We also support other Lions clubs at their events, marshalling etc, as well as Witham & Maldon SWANS and Saffron Waldon Crocus Sapphires at their fundraising events.

9th June 2024 Big Breakfast

Our first BIG BREAKFAST of the year was on Sunday June 9th at 11am. The usual cooked and continental fayre was on offer and Tea & Cake in the afternoon and of course there was a raffle.

We start off with fruit juice, cereal, fruit and a meat/cheese platter.

After a short break our guests are invited to get their cooked breakfasts and will have tea and coffee.

After another short break we then serve pancakes with maple syrup and of course more tea!

By now we are in to the mid afternoon, so what happens then......cake of course!

Whilst between courses, our new games for our stalls were put up in the garden for people to try out and provide us with feedback on them. We are excited to start taking these out to events soon.

Well done to all involved on a very successful day raising money for Knightswood Day Centre, who provide day care for people with a variety of conditions. We aim to buy them a record player and some records.

The weather was good this was an ideal oppertunity for Rick to try out the new fundrasing games…which were enjoyed by all those who had a go!

We also had a guess how many sweets in the jar.

Attending were 28 guests from Eastwood Lions, Saffron Walden Lions, Crocus Sapphires, SWANS, Mersea Lions, Chelmsford Lions and the Chelmer Ladies.

We made a total of £337 on the day

It was a fantastic spread so well done to all those involved in the cooking and copias amounts of washing up! It was also lovely for everyone to be able to see PCC Lion Matt Jones from South Carolina, who is staying at the Briault household during his visit back to the UK from America.

The SWANS also donated the takings from a boot fair with Sandie the previous day. Thank you SWANS.
