Our Club Fundraising and Donations 2025 - 2026
One thing that is so unique, to Lions clubs, is that 100% of all monies raised goes to charitable causes; membership fees cover the day to day running of the club and global associates.
We run stalls at fetes, fairs and fun days with a teddy and game tombola, as well as selling 2nd hand books, gift baskets and knitted/crocheted items.
We also support other Lions clubs at their events, marshalling etc, as well as Witham & Maldon SWANS and Saffron Waldon Crocus Sapphires at their fundraising events.
27th September 2025 Dragon Boat Race at Ipswich
On saturday we attended the Dragon Boat Race on the Waterfront in Ipswich. Its a new event for us to attend.
We were invited by the organisers Brave Futures, who gave us a talk in November 2024 about what they do. We gave them a donation in January this year.
The weather was on our side (this event was cancelled a couple of months ago due to bad weather).
A young LEO from India, who had just started working for BT in Ipswich, saw our Lions signs and came over to spend some time with us!
We took treasure island, wine or water, a teddy tombola and message in a bottle.
We had great fun watching the dragon boat racing and watching the dancers and Chinese dancing dragon!
We raised £100. Well done to Angela, Moira, Mark, Robyn and Rick.
Mersea Lions Family Festival 16th August 2025
Mersea Lions invited us to join them at their Family Festival. We had been many times before, and really enjoy this event at Waldegraves Holliday Park.
There is a classic car show, as well as a dog show, live band, and all the stalls.
We took our carnival games, wine or water, treasure island, a teddy tombola and some 2nd hand books to sell.
The event was well supported and we had a lovely day, well done and thank you to Mersea Lions for organising such a great event.
We raised an amazing £411!
13th July 2025 Heybridge Summer Fair
On Sunday we attended the Summer Fair held at George V Playing Field, Heybridge.
We went last year and had an amazing time, this year was bigger, with more stalls.
We had a stall with Teddy Tombola, Bottle Tombola, Treasure Island with Pirate prizes, 2nd hand books and Carnival Games.
Sandie, Tony, Robyn and Rick helped out and we raised £361 - Well done to all.
6th July 2025 Big Breakfast And President Handover
On Sunday we held our first BIG BREAKFAST of the year at Sandie and Tonys house in Maldon.
The usual cooked and continental fayre was on offer with Tea, Cake and wine in the afternoon.
Sandie handed the President Collar over to Louisa, who told us her plans for the coming year.
DG Colin presented Robyn with her Certificate of Appreciation from the International President.
The cost was only £15 per head and of course there was a raffle.
We raised £475 with £95 from the raffle going to the charity account, and the remaining £250 going into the admin account, after costs were deducted.
Thank you to all those who came and supported us.
